Living Hawkhurst House, 39 Steels Rd Hampstead 1881-91 2servants. George Goodwin Kilburne was a London genre painter,watercolourist and engraver. He studied for five years with theDalziel brothers, who were well known as engravers andillu strators. His charming portrayal of Victorian and Edwardianlife was popularised through prints. In addition to exhibitinghis paintings at the major London venues, Kilburne's work wasalso shown at the Grosvenor Gallery, which was founded in BondStreet by Sir Coutts and Lady Lindsay, and which was a favouritegallery of Burne-Jones and the Pre-Raphaelite followers.Exhibited Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, RoyalInstitute of Painters in WatercoloursMuseums Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, Sheffield Art Gallery
